NAMES: a networking and talent matching app for healthcare professionals
ScalaCode built NAMES, an on-demand healthcare app for professionals, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Clinicians network with peers, store their credentials securely and get matched to roles that suit their qualifications.
A healthcare app started after COVID-19
Garth, CEO of NAMES, started the venture in 2020, soon after COVID-19 hit. He wanted an application that helps healthcare professionals with communication, social networking, scheduling and training, and that speeds up hiring at a time of heavy staff turnover.
What healthcare teams were struggling with
Limited peer-to-peer communication
Healthcare workers had few ways to share updates and industry news with each other.
Slow hiring
Long hiring timelines hurt operations when teams were already stretched.
High turnover during the crisis
Staffing levels were hard to maintain while the pandemic drove people out of roles.
