How ScalaCode compares
Freelancers suit small, well-defined tasks, and large consultancies suit programmes that need hundreds of people. Most product and AI builds sit between the two.
| ScalaCode | Freelancer marketplace | Large consultancy | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | Salaried engineers you interview and choose | Individuals you vet yourself | Teams assigned by the firm |
| Price visibility | Starting prices and monthly rates published | Hourly rates per person | Quoted per proposal |
| Continuity if someone leaves | Replacement from the same in-house team | You start the search again | Handled by the firm |
| Code ownership | Yours from the first commit | Depends on each contract | Set by the firm's contract |
| Best for | Product, AI and platform builds, and dedicated teams | Short, self-contained tasks | Large programmes across many systems |

Why ScalaCode FAQs
Anything not covered here, ask on the call.
How is ScalaCode different from a freelancer marketplace?
You get salaried engineers who work in one team, with managers, code review and replacements from the same team. On a marketplace you vet each person yourself and start again if someone leaves.
How is ScalaCode different from a large consultancy?
You interview the engineers who will do the work, prices are published before the first call, and the people on the strategy call stay involved through delivery. Large consultancies fit programmes that need hundreds of people across many systems.
Can we talk to your clients?
Yes. Once we know your project, we connect you with a client who had a similar build, with their permission. Several clients also review us on camera.
What if the project goes off track?
You see working software every two weeks, so problems show early. If a developer is not the right fit we share new profiles, usually with one to two weeks' notice, and fixed-scope work is held to the milestones agreed in the discovery sprint.
Do you work with startups?
Yes. Clients range from funded startups and ISVs to Fortune 500 teams. Startups usually begin with an MVP from $9,999.
Where is the team based?
Our head office is in Noida, India, and our in-house engineers work from there or from home across India. Partners support clients locally in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
