ScalaCode July Highlights 2026: Culture, Enterprise AI Insights & Client Success

The month of July 2026 was another month of continued progress at ScalaCode. The month was marked by our ongoing commitment to innovation, execution, and teamwork, from acknowledging our team members who make every project a success to providing our client, Estorick, with a new, modern Android solution. But we also made time to relax with a friendly Jenga game, which is another way of working together than delivery!

Fun Friday: The Jenga Face-Off

Work is important, but so is taking time to connect as a team. To wrap up the week, we hosted a company-wide Jenga challenge where colleagues traded keyboards for careful hands and plenty of laughter.

The friendly competition encouraged teamwork, conversation, and a welcome break from daily routines. Moments like these strengthen relationships across teams and reinforce the collaborative culture that powers everything we build.

Case Study Spotlight

Modernizing Inventory Management with an Android App for SUNMI L2S Pro

Many organizations continue to rely on legacy software that limits efficiency and future growth. In July, we highlighted how ScalaCode helped a client replace a decades-old DOS-based inventory terminal with a modern Android application designed specifically for SUNMI L2S Pro devices.

Modernizing Inventory Management with an Android App for SUNMI L2S Pro

The Challenge

The client needed to modernize its inventory workflow without disrupting day-to-day operations. The solution also had to process large data files efficiently while supporting offline usage and seamless synchronization with the existing EPOS system.

Our Solution

ScalaCode developed a Kotlin-based Android application using Jetpack Compose for a responsive user experience. The app combined SQLite-powered offline storage with automatic synchronization when connectivity became available and streamlined data exchange with the client’s EPOS platform.

Key Highlights

  • Replaced the legacy DOS terminal with a modern Kotlin Android application.
  • Built offline storage and synchronization using SQLite and Android File API.
  • Integrated inventory workflows directly with the client’s EPOS system.
  • Optimized performance for large 6 to 7 MB inventory files.
  • Tested reliability using Espresso and JUnit.

The Result

The client now operates on a fast, fully offline-capable Android application that replaces its legacy inventory terminal while providing a scalable platform for future enhancements. The modernization improved usability, maintained operational continuity, and positioned the business for long-term growth.
